Dreaming new dreams while putting the fragments back together…..
I’m 41, I have 2 beautiful children, who make my heart sing & make me want to pull my hair out, sometimes simultaneously! My daughter G, is 11, and my son P is 9. I work in a large organization that can suck the soul out of you, if you let it….thankfully, I am blessed with family and a circle of friends who bring support, laughter & love to each other.
This blog journal is an opportunity for me to finally do what I love, and that’s writing. I am by no means a writer, and do not pretend to be. I love the process of writing and putting my ideas out there. I’ve kept journals all my life, and still do, but this space is allowing me to be more creative. My writings are about personal experiences, daily life stuff, on being a mom, a single woman, on being a woman. On facing challenges and sometimes feeling defeated. You’ll find my personal spiritual views and political opinions on things, you’ll find alot of memories that I hold very dear to my heart, and I share all those things here for that reason: to share. I am no different than anyone else, in the sense that I’ve had my share of struggles to overcome, and some of those have resulted in broken dreams. This is the premise for this new stage in my life, to rebuild and to renew.
Welcome to my reconstruction project……
Being a single parent is tough and I feel for you. I can relate because I have two young ones myself, a little older than your two. They are a handful. Fortunately, I don’t have a job that will suck the soul out of me – I have my X to do that (heheheh)!
I like your space and will return as a regular!
Look forward to hearing more from your space!
Domo!

I have a question. In your “about me” section it says that you are “divorced”. I was wondering how long a divorce process lingers? It seems as though you GOT divorced, and now that makes you single again. Do you think that there will be a time that you will change the way you describe yourself? I don’t want to be too pushy, but I do want you to know that I pray for you often and when I do, I pray for some specific things. One of them is that you would see that you are not defined by what happened to you in your life, but by what you have become as a result of it.
You GOT married, so you BECAME a wife. You GOT pregnant, so you BECAME a mother. You GOT divorced, so you BECAME single again.
Every time I finish reading your latest posts, I visit your “about me” page. I look to see if your view of yourself has changed. I will continue to pray that one day you will feel it necessary to make some adjustments to your description. I look forward to applauding your bravery.
Soooooooo Respectfully,
Charlie

Charlie, your insights are so bang on, they scare me. In a good way
I am way more than the “Please check your marital status” box on those dreaded government forms….In fact, I’m not a marital status at all!
“One of them is that you would see that you are not defined by what happened to you in your life, but by what you have become as a result of it.” I do believe it’s time for some adjustments…..(man, I won’t be sleeping tonight!)
Right back at you with respect, Mr. Pushy Blogfriend!
Chantal
(thank you for your prayers, they are bearing fruit…..)

Chantal, thought I’d land here for a spell.
Charlie does put it right out there for sure and as usual and customary for our young friend, he’s right on point.
I like the edits. All I can say is, “You go ahead girlfriend!” Enjoy, enjoy, and enjoy some more.

Chantal,
Just because you don’t have enough to do (just kidding) I left you a Meme over at my place. It’s called “5 gifts I would buy for myself this Christmas if I had “Unlimited” income”. If you get the time and feel like playing along…

Hey Chantal,
I’ve tagged you with another meme/reveal again. SORRY! It’s from Miss Harley Quinn (mostly). Called “My Kitchen”. You’ll be describing how your kitchen reflects you & yours. A good time of year for that too. But its free style so whatever you like. Dobre Den.

Have been enjoying your blogs since one year….Your writings touch one’s soul not because the experiences are different but simply because they have freshness in them….Like a mountain dew or a cool, crisp breeze…Keep writing!

Welcome, Seema, and thank you for your visits to Ain’t Life Strange……I’m most grateful for your encouragement this morning. Readers such as yourself are the silent inspiration to my random acts of writing.
Thank you for coming along.
Sincerely,
Chantal
